By putting either white plastic or a white tarp on your building you will be permanently shading it, even on the cloudy days. By using a combination of clear plastic with shade cloth there will be increased flexibility to create the environment you desire.
Shade cloth is a polypropylene strand woven material that comes in many sizes and percentages of shade. It comes in 30%, 50%, 70% and 80% shading. The master rolls are 6’ and 12’ wide and can be sewn together to provide custom widths. Usually the edges are finished with a reinforced edge all the way around and grommets every 4’. Grommets provide the eyelets to allow a variety of fastening devices to secure the fabric to the building.
Typically shade cloth is ordered equal to the floor space of the structure. Although this does not cover the building from ground to ground, usually it is not necessary to cover down to the ground on either the north or east facing side because the sun is not too strong
